"Humanity is quite capable of blowing itself up.
The stress of intergalactic intrigue accelerates that."
Watch the Skies is the world's preeminent megagame experience — a sprawling live-action game that puts dozens or hundreds of players into the roles of world leaders, diplomats, journalists, corporate magnates, and something far stranger: visitors from a distant planet.
Legacy & Legends is an ambitious evolution: instead of one contemporary game, we span five hundred years of human history across three separate sessions. Decisions made in 1500 will echo through 1850 and into 2026. Your choices become history.
Each session is a complete megagame experience. Together, they tell one continuous story across the ages.
The world is opening up. Trade routes span continents. Missionaries carry religion across oceans. Empires rise on the backs of discovery — and something ancient watches from above.
Factories thunder. Railways stretch across continents. Ideology cleaves the world into factions. Colonial empires strain to govern distant lands — while the skies grow stranger.
A world shaped by your ancestors' choices. Global crises interconnect everything. Social fabric frays. Weapons of mass destruction wait in silos. And first contact is no longer theoretical.
Every role in Watch the Skies: Legacy & Legends is a unique story waiting to be lived. No two games are the same. No two players experience it alike.
Lead an empire, nation-state, or city. Trade, negotiate, wage war, unlock technologies, and write history. Manage religion, ideology, and crises to deliver a better life to your people. Every decision shapes the legacy your successor inherits.
Control the means of production. Manage a power's finances. Over time, accumulate stock, move production chains across tables. Profit from every era. Wealth transcends borders — and centuries.
Universities are the engine of civilizational progress. You convert meeples and raw resources into the diverse human talent that powers the technology tree — and each breakthrough cascades forward across eras.
The world has edges and you intend to find them. Find distant powers and forge agreements to bring critical resources back to your power. Who you bring along on the journey may change the course of history.
The most important currency in megagames is information. Report the news, spin the narrative, extort the powerful. Your headlines literally become the first draft of history.
Seated apart from humanity, you carry secrets no human knows. Your motives are your own. Your artifacts are valuable. Your plans span millennia. What do you really want?
Players are welcome to join one, two, or all three sessions. Play a single era, or carry your lineage through five centuries of history.
Session
Jump in for a single self-contained megagame experience. Perfect for those with limited availability or for first-timers.
Sessions
See how your decisions ripple forward across the generations. Two sessions reveal the scope of the legacy system.
Sessions
The full saga. Five centuries. Your story, from the dawn of globalization to the moment of contact. Legendary.
Players from earlier sessions are invited to the post-game debrief after Session 3 — to see how their history played out, and to finally learn what the aliens were planning all along.
Plan, produce, collect income. Receive event slips. Read the newspapers. Prepare for the storm.
Move freely between tables. Negotiate face-to-face. Research technologies. Complete events. Make deals — or betray them.
Completing events unlocks further events — sometimes across sessions. One action in 1500 can reshape the world of 2026.
A complex economy resource economy relies on production in cities, universities, and corporations. Upgrade, trade, dominate.
Research unlocks new abilities, events, and — eventually — war. Share tech with allies. Guard it from rivals. Build humanity's future.
Journalists broadcast events to players in real time. Later-session players can literally read the newspapers of history. You are the record.
Megagames are not about winning and losing. They are collaborative joint storytelling exercises, shared adventures where even a dramatic defeat can be the most memorable moment of the game. There are no winners or losers in megagames - similar to most tabletop experiences. A journalist who exposes the truth at great cost? A power that loses a war but wins a generation of peace? These are the stories that we will tell. And they are waiting for you to write them.
"Watch the Skies: Legacy and Legends is built to tell the tale of humanity through hundreds of stories — including yours. Find your story. Live your story. Finish your story."
Centuries of history wait to be shaped. Nations wait to be led. Headlines wait to be written. And something overhead has been watching for a very long time.
We intend to break the world record for the largest megagame in history.
