2021 Report

Here are some of the highlights from the 2021 playthrough at GenCon.

Session One Highlights

Notable Stories

Tornado Timmy and Mister Medicore are terrible, but their handlers do a good job of steadily equipping them with moves and training regimens.

Ring Royalty

Vladimir Pinkoslav runs through the Ring Royalty Tournament, held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Vladimir Pinkoslav defeated Admiral America in the finals, with the help of outside interference from Sumo Samurai.

Colossal Tussle

Admiral America defeated Sumo Samurai in an extremely close Cage Match. Pinkoslav's handlers had promised assistance, but nobody came to help Samurai.

Vladimir Pinkoslav cashed in his Ring Royalty championship match (anyime, anyplace, anywhere) at the Colossal Tussle, winning the Lone Star Championship by defeating the King of Whoo in a no holds barred match after several wrestlers seized the King of Woo's Robe of Whoo.

Session Two Highlights

Notable Stories

Several regional championships began to merge into more prestigious titles.

Richie McRich paid undefeated Vladimir Pinkoslav to take a dive, unifying the Lone Star and Golden Gate championships.

Ring Royalty

Tornado Timmy had the run of a lifetime, with several legitimate upsets in the Ring Royalty tournament. (Timmy somehow outrolled wrestlers with more dice in each round of the tournament.) Feeling the rush, Timmy immediately cashed in his championship match against reining Western States champion Hipster Dan, winning handily as the crowd of other players rained steel folding chairs on poor Dan.

Colossal Tussle

Dreadfully one-dimensional strongman Power 'N Paint defeated Richie McRich for the championship in a cage match, winning the unified Lone Star/Golden Gate Championship. This match was absolutely one sided, as the fans in Los Angeles really liked Power 'N Paint's muscles.

Senor Saint defeated Tornado Timmy in a match of the year candidate - with each wrestler rolling all of the dice we had on hand. Saint would carry the Western States championship into the next session.

Session Three Highlights

Notable Stories

Senor Saint retired after losing handily to Power 'N Paint. On a shoot random draw, El Hijo Senor Saint entered the game to replace Senor Saint.

The Empire State Championship hot potatoed across multiple wrestlers after Dwayne Stone defeated the insurmountable Alex the Giant. Roy Da Playboy traded wins with Stone for a short reign. Eventually the belt landed on Admiral America's waist.

Ring Royalty

Tornado Timmy almost caught lightning in the bottle twice, until Vladimir Pinkoslav interfered in the finals giving Mister Mediocre the crown.

Colossal Tussle

Timmy defeated Pinkoslav in a Loser Leaves Town match, essentially retiring the big evil Russian. This was Pinkoslav's first and only legitimate loss.

Power 'N Paint kicked Medicore's teeth in in the least excited main event in Colossal Tussle history. PowerNPaintWinsLOL becomes a meme with some of the players -- replacing AlexWinsLOL.

Session Four Highlights

Notable Stories

Everybody is feuding with everybody - and the face/heel dynamic breaks down entirely.

Jaguar Mask won a Luchas de Apuestas against El Hijo Senor Saint, forcing the hero to unmask.

Hipster Dan defeated Admiral America in a ladder match for the Empire State Championship.

Ring Royalty

Newcomer Brazilian Whacks turns heads with an excellent showing, but Hipster Dan emerged from in absolute schmoz in the finals with nine players interfering.

Colossal Tussle

Brazilain Whacks defeated Power 'N Paint with a kick to the face in a street fight. The fans in Paris were not interested in Paint's power game, allowing Whacks' technical prowess to win the day and the unified championships.

Hipster Dan defeated Richie McRich, ending nearly three sessions of heel dominance with the Western States Championship.

One More Match

Whacks' handler played the "feud" plot card immediately after Dan's match -- forcing one last match for the session. On top of bad blood leftover from the Ring Royalty Championship, the two players had been involved in the Luchas de Apuestas. Hipster Dan won after longtime rival Tornado Timmy came to the ring with the referee down and out, steer chair in hand, and attacked on Whacks. Hipster Dan unified the several championships, becoming the first North American Champion.
